Comsec Advisor

**The role**

We are currently on the hunt for a COMSEC Advisor to help ensure that GCSB network and NZSIS messaging services remain operational 24/7. You will join a collaborative, friendly and productive team who pride themselves on being able to provide exceptional service to customers across the NZIC.

**What you'll do**
- Own the COMSEC Custodianship for both GCSB and NZSIS - you'll be the guardian of our cryptographic assets
- Be the escalation point for internal and external agency customers, delivering rapid, decisive support
- Monitor & protect the GCSB widearea network, spotting anomalies and driving corrective action before they become incidents
- Validate and key all cryptographic equipment, ensuring flawless operation around the clock

We need a seasoned professional with experience in a technical role, and the ability to learn quickly and hit the ground running. You will have exceptional problem-solving skills, top-notch communication skills and a results-oriented mind-set with a desire to never stop learning. We are looking for people who have a drive for continuous improvement, willingness to champion change, whilst also being process oriented.

**The expected appointing range for this position is between $87,048 - $92,851.**

**Before you apply**

Working within our unique environment means we have to ensure you're eligible for employment.

You must:

- Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 years

OR

Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years
- Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance
- Ordinarily, this means you'll have a 15 year checkable background in countries NZSIS Vetting can make meaningful and reliable checks.
