**About the role**

Sitting in our Finance Team our Wholesale Market Analyst at Genesis will play an essential role in analysing and managing commodity market risks, supporting the development of key risk modelling systems, and contributing to the delivery of innovative energy solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of New Zealand's energy landscape and work closely with our dynamic trading and portfolio teams.
- Maintain and improve market risk reporting and analysis.
- Support the preparation and planning of key committee meetings, including presenting market risk concepts.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of wholesale market systems and software.
- Provide critical analysis and challenge trading positions taken by the Front Office trading teams.
- Develop internal stochastic and deterministic models for market risk and financial reporting.

**About you**

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a passion for the energy market.
- Extensive experience in trading, financial markets, or risk-related roles as well as strong risk analysis and reporting skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics or similar quantitative or commercial disciplines
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Power BI; experience with databases is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge effectively.
- Experience in wholesale electricity markets and knowledge of financial derivative products is preferred.
