**About Us**
If you love working with a diverse group of people who are all about putting the customer at the centre and enabling choice, you’ve found the right company. The energy sector is transforming at a rate of knots, and we want you to join us and be part of this transformation. Vector is listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange with Entrust, our majority shareholder. Vector operates a range of innovative businesses delivering energy and communication services to more than 600,000 homes and commercial customers across Aotearoa and the Pacific. These services include electricity and gas connections, solar solutions, high speed fibre, BBQ gas bottles, air and water purification and much more - all of which are transforming the energy sector in one way or another.
Because we live in a world that is changing fast, we must continue to identify and develop better solutions that will provide value, choice and service for our customers throughout New Zealand and beyond, so the environment and communities we love continue to thrive. To do this, Vector has a vision of creating a new energy future, which will help to deliver clean, reliable and affordable energy solutions for customers.
**About the role**
Auckland, one of the world’s fastest-growing cities, relies on Vector, New Zealand’s largest electricity distribution network, to provide resilient and intelligent energy solutions. The numerous growth projects and network refurbishment underway, the future of our network is pivotal in ensuring a safe and reliable power supply for our thriving city.
The core objective of this role is to understand the performance of the electricity network assets.
This role will be instrumental in determining the relevant asset strategies required to meet Vector’s asset management objectives ensuring they can continue to operate safely and effectively, in a way that improves reliability and resilience of the network, whilst also optimising asset service life.
Understanding the changing customer expectations and needs is a key strategic requirement for this role. Vector no longer sees itself as an organisation that manages infrastructure assets only - we are a customer-focused business that needs to understand what our customer’s value.
**Who we are looking for**
A qualification is not mandatory, but it is essential to have solid working knowledge of the various assets that make up an Electricity Distribution Network, at least a few years’ experience would be ideal.
You will love working with technical information, some that is provided to you and some that you gather through robust investigations and field-based observations. You'll demonstrate the ability to interpret and identify trends with excel based data and will enjoy working with risk based and financial models to provide validated recommendations on how best to optimise Vectors assets. You will be contributing to our various asset strategies, our asset management plan and supporting our project delivery team by preparing and reviewing from technical information and developing strategies from concept through to implementation in the field. With support from others in the team, you will be responsible for understanding the needs from our engineering, finance, risk, operational and customer teams and providing pragmatic advice on a range of technical issues.
**What we can offer you**
We love working together to create a new energy future. If you want to be part of an organisation with a real and tangible purpose, Vector could be the place for you.
