We have an opportunity for someone with a passion for working with our Pacific children and families combined with a passion for social work practice to be part of shaping, driving and supporting quality practice across Oranga Tamariki.
The Senior Pacific Practice Advisor is an influential secondment opportunity reporting to the Manager, Pacific Practice Advice team. This role contributes to the Practice Programme by advancing inclusive, relational and restorative practice with all tamariki and whānau and in particular Pacific children and their families.

Mō te tūnga | About the role
Reporting to the Manager, Pacific Practice Advice, you will be part of a Pacific Practice Advice team working alongside a National Pacific practice advisor and a Senior Pacific Practice Advisor and the Practice Programme team in the Quality Practice and Experience Group.
You will support the Practice Shift programme of work by contributing to the development of Pacific-specific practice, tools, frameworks and guidance, and providing specialist expertise and advice to ensure robust sustainable practice that leads to improved outcomes for Pacific children, young people and their families.
This position will champion practice excellence for Pacific children and families, utilising community networks and in-depth knowledge of Pacific models of practice.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

**Key requirements of the role include**:

- In depth knowledge and experience of the aspirations and needs of Pacific peoples including evidence of involvement in Pacific networks
- Knowledge of and commitment to mana tamaiti, whakapapa and whanaungatanga, and delivering to the Oranga Tamariki Māori cultural framework
- Knowledge and experience of Pacific practice models
- Direct and sound practice or relevant operational experience along with evidence of leadership working with others to achieve best practice
- Sound written, analytical, review and advisory skills
- Strong interpersonal skills including collaboration, advocacy, public presentation
- A preferred fluency in at least one Pacific language
- A social work qualification and current NZ social work registration.
- A clean current NZ driver's licence is preferrable
- Willingness to travel domestically.
