Activities Facilitator / Allied Health Assistant - Whare Whakaue In-patient unit

Permanent, part-time over a 7-day period (40 hours per week rotating shifts)
We are looking for dynamic and motivated Activities Facilitator / Allied Health Assistant to join our multi-disciplinary team at Whare Whakaue Acute Inpatient Mental Health Unit in Rotorua Hospital.

We are keen to further develop our meaningful activities programme for our tangata whaiora group and you'll work mainly alongside the Occupational Therapist as well as other staff, assisting in the planning, organising, implementation and evaluation of the therapeutic programme on the ward that provides people opportunities to engage in psycho-educational, skills-based, social and leisure groups. These are designed to enhance quality of life and independence for people with significant mental health issues to encourage participation and rehabilitation. Ideally you will have an outgoing personality and ability to engage and encourage others. Experience in a similar type role would be an asset.
