Our Team
As business continues to grow, we're expanding our Auckland and Wellington based Integration capability, which is where you come in - The Integration Practice is part of our wider Digital Engineering business, creating and maintaining digital technology solutions for our clients in APAC region. We are a relaxed and friendly, yet quite fast-paced team who are driven to deliver awesome technology You’ll work primarily across our Wellington-based customers and join likeminded Integration experts, including MuleSoft Ambassadors and Microsoft MVPs, who take pride in what they do and who they do it for.
About the Role
A Technical Architect is a senior position that requires broad skills more than it requires depth. All of the following would be useful background:

- Significant time spent as a development technical lead
- Time spent as, or time spent working with, Business Analysts or Project Managers
- Some time in a consulting roles to hone client facing abilities
- Exposure to the various layers of systems is essential - i.e. UI, web, database, integration, etc
- Involvement in infrastructure design and implementation
- Experience with “non functionals”, particularly system scalability, performance, security and availability
- Involvement in costing projects and other financials

**A typical day would involve**:

- Interacting with Subject Matter Experts to discuss business problems
- Working with Hardware, Network and tech leads to come up with System Architecture Design
- Working through SAD issues/concerns that impacts delivery of the solution
- Having work peer reviewed by a Senior architect - a must for projects over $100,000
- Working with tech leads to implement a solution architecture
- Contributing to pre-sales efforts, including RFP responses
- Mentoring other Datacom technical people
- Reviewing and contributing to Project Managers’ and Business Analysts’ work
- Exploring and evaluation technical solution options
- Informing and contributing to team technology practice and strategy

- Dealing with politics - working at a senior level you need to be able to handle conflicting ideas

- Good Interpersonal skills (there are numerous roles that a SA interacts with - from developers to CIOs)
- Documentation
- Communication/Presentation skills
- Leadership qualities
