Abano Healthcare is Australasia's largest dental support organization (DSO), dedicated to providing exceptional dental care to patients across Australia and New Zealand. We are a team of passionate professionals committed to supporting our network of over 250 dental practices and 700+ clinicians, empowering them to deliver the highest quality oral healthcare services.

The Legal Adviser will play an important role in providing legal advice to the Australian and New Zealand business across various areas, including operations support, clinician contracts, commercial contracts (including government contracts), disputes, privacy issues, M&A/joint ventures, regulatory matters, complaints/disputes, compliance and legal risk management.

This role requires sound commercial judgment and the ability to deliver practical legal advice that is balanced with other risks and business priorities.

The Legal Adviser will report to the Senior Legal Adviser and be required to build and maintain strong relationships with members of the Executive Leadership Team, as well as with Regional Operations Managers and more broadly with the functional teams within the support offices in Australia and New Zealand.
**Qualifications** Knowledge & Experience**
- 5-8 years post-qualification experience gained in a top or mid-tier firm or a reputable in-house team.
- Ideally experience within a healthcare or service-oriented business.
- Demonstrated ability to review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts.
- Experience with reviewing marketing materials and a basic understanding of competition and consumer laws.
- Understanding of basic privacy law principles in Australia and/or New Zealand.
- Experience with commercial transactions such as M&A and joint ventures (preferred).
- Experience with handling customer complaints/disputes.

**Qualifications, Certificates, and Licences**
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification.
- Admitted to practice law in Australia, or another relevant jurisdiction (with a requirement to gain admission in New Zealand which will be supported by the company).
- Experience within a corporate setting is highly desirable.
