**The opportunity**

This is a new 2-year fixed term role within the Environmental Consents team for someone who has experience in a regulatory processing role. We're looking for motivated, positive and confident individuals to join our Environmental Consents team working across the Western Bay of Plenty who can put their skills into action in the most rapidly growing region in New Zealand.

**To set you up for success, you'll have**

You will have great communication skills and the ability to relate to a wide cross section of the community. You will have experience in a regulatory environment and skills in problem solving and conflict resolution, as well as the following:

- Tertiary degree in Resource Management Planning or similar.
- 5+ years experience in consent processing under the Resource Management Act.
- A sound understanding of the local government legislative framework.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present and explain ideas both visually and verbally.
- A successful collaborator team player, and influencer.
- Strong networking and consultative approach allowing development and maintenance of strong working relationships within and outside the organisation.
- The ability to understand and interpret plans and legal documents.
