Our Cambridge Branch is looking for a Foreman to join the Service team. This position is responsible for mentoring and monitoring Service Technicians to provide after-market support services (component diagnostics, repair, and replacement). This includes providing guidance in all aspects of the service department and day-to-day activity of Leadman, Shop, Field, and Resident Service Technicians.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

Service & Product Support
- Assist Service Manager with workflow to ensure work is planned, scheduled, assigned, and completed on time and within quoted costs.
- Meet company and customer expectations for quality of work in the service shop, resident locations, and in the field.
- Prepare accurate quotes for customer work orders and ensure work orders are closed and processed in a timely manner.
- Meet, communicate with, and work with customers to resolve the causes of customer complains.
- Inspect and operate customer equipment during visits to customer worksites as part of resolving concerns/diagnostics.
- Work with parts and sales to coordinate parts, inventory, and service delivery.
- Ensure work is performed according to established safety and industry standards.
- Ensure standards, policies, and reporting practices work orders, warranty, parts return, PIPs, new model qualification, and credit are met.

Employee Supervision & Management
- In collaboration with the Service Manager, supervise and support day-to-day activities of service employees.
- Oversee and coordinate employee shift scheduling.
- Document/deal with employee performance issues as required and make recommendations to the Service Manager regarding performance issues.
- Help ensure employee training requirements are met, and coach, mentor and train employees in relevant practices and procedures as required.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and practices for employment and employee relations.
- Minimize work-related injuries and illnesses by ensuring that all work in the department is performed safely and that occupational health and safety standards are met.

Financials

**In the Service Manager's absence**:

- Submit all warranty claims and PIPs correctly and within the required timeframe to receive maximum allowable credit.
- Manage paper flow to ensure all service revenue, expenses, and activities are timely, accurate, and completely recorded.
- Utilize vendor information systems (JDIS) to manage customer and financial information.

REQUIRED SKILLS
- 3-5 years' progressive experience (i.e., journeyperson heavy duty mechanic, combined with 1-year supervisory experience in the heavy-duty equipment industry)
- Must be able to travel to customer worksites, and as required, operate and work on or around heavy equipment.
