**About the role**

Reporting to our Group Director Operations, this role leads a team of multidisciplinary leaders, service managers and specialists delivering Regional Cancer Services, Regional Renal Services, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Radiology services across Waikato District and to the Te Manawa Taki Region. This is a very tangible opportunity to make a real difference in key areas of health service delivery.

**About the Service**

Health New Zealand I Te Whatu Ora - Waikato provides health services in the Waikato region to a combined population of over 400,000 people, and tertiary-level services to the Midland region, with a population of over 840,000. Waikato Hospital in Hamilton provides the most specialised and complex medical care and is recognised as both a tertiary and accredited training hospital. The Director of Operations has responsibility for circa 600 staff and an operating budget of over $100mil.

**About you**

You are a credible and experienced senior leader who knows what great looks like. You bring an absolute commitment to lifting capability and performance in key areas for improved outcomes for patients and whanau in the areas of Cancer & Chronic Conditions and Radiology.

**To be considered for this position it is essential that you**:

- 10+ years’ experience in an operational and strategic leadership role
- are known as a resilient and visionary leader among your peers
- have a track record of ownership and accountability in programme and change management
- know how to get the best from dispersed teams and managing through others
- bring drive and tenacity for performance excellence and improved measurable results
- have strong financial acumen, including the ability to build strong business cases built on evidence and analysis and the ability to manage a large operational budget.
- are an exemplary relationship builder especially skilled in direction setting and the pursuit of targets that make a real difference to patients.
- have competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
