Are you an animal lover with flexible availability and your own transport? We’re one of the leading in-home pet care providers in Wellington and Lower Hutt, and we’re on the lookout for a reliable, animal-loving team member to join us as a **casual pet sitter and dog walker**.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working independently, is confident with a range of pets, and is available **weekdays, especially between 11 am - 2 pm**, to help with our overflow of dog visits. You may also be asked to step in when other sitters are away or unwell, including occasional pet sitting and weekend shifts between our opening hours 8 am - 6 pm.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Visit pets in their homes to feed and care for them - cats, rabbits, birds, and more
- Walk dogs and provide play/enrichment visits for puppies
- Send daily updates and photos to clients via our mobile app
- Be able to work independently either across Wellington or Lower Hutt

**When We Need You**:

- Weekday availability - mainly between 10 - 2pm to help cover our dog visits on busy days
- School holiday availability is a must
- Occasional weekend work to help cover leave/illness
- Ongoing casual hours, with increased demand during busy periods (e.g. public holidays, summer)

**You’ll Be a Great Fit If You**:

- Are confident and calm with dogs of all shapes and sizes - big, small, bouncy or shy
- Have proven experience in animal care
- Are reliable, punctual, and have a strong attention to detail
- Are friendly, helpful and have a positive attitude
- Happy to step in at short notice and help cover for team members

**What You’ll Need**:

- You MUST have YOUR OWN reliable transport - Applications without their own transport will not be considered - public transport is not suitable for this position
- Smartphone to use our pet care system
- Happy to work across either Wellington or Lower Hutt as needed
- Must pass a Ministry of Justice (MOJ) criminal history check
- Provide two references (work, volunteering, or study)
