**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**

We are seeking a motivated, resourceful and enthusiastic registered health professional to join the Youth Forensic Team. As a team we provide liaison and consultation to and between Youth Courts, Youth Justice Facilities, Prisons, Oranga Tamariki, Mental Health Services, Police, Government and Non-Government Organisations on mental health and addiction matters and the management of associated problems. The primary purpose of the role it to provide specialist assessments, counselling and support to Youth with substance abuse/dependency and associated mental health issues.

The regional arm of Te Korowai-Whāriki includes the Central Regional Forensic Mental Health Service which operates at the interface between Mental Health Services and the Justice System and works within the following settings - prisons, courts, community, and inpatient services. The Service offers assessment and rehabilitation services to defendants charged with criminal offences and offenders who have psychiatric illness.
