Due to the promotion of one of our team members, we are seeking a teacher aide for a permanent position starting as soon as possbile. The position is 31 hours 15 minutes per week, 0845 to 1530 including a 30 minute unpaid break, Monday to Friday, term-time only.
The position requires an outgoing, caring individual who is happy to work calmly and efficiently with high school students of all ages (in one-to-one situation or in small groups) under teacher supervision.
Applicants should be aware of the requirements for a high standard of numeracy and literacy in English.
Applicants will need to;
- Work with students (in a one-to-one situation or in small groups) who present with behavioural or learning differences within or alongside the mainstream class and off-site, as required.
- Support the classroom teacher
- With the off-site staff or classroom teacher, use agreed strategies to manage student’s behaviour.
- Work with the student and other students to boost learning, independence and social skills.
- Liaise with the classroom teacher to ensure the best support is provided to the targeted student(s).
- Other reasonably requested duties as required.
Only applicants with New Zealand working rights will be considered.
Pay rate will be as per the Support Staff in Schools' Collective Agreement and will be between Teacher Aide Grade BC1 $26.59 and BC4 $28.85 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
