The Financial and Commercial Operations Group are on the hunt for a Senior Procurement expert to support the continuous improvement and maturity of our procurement function. Te tūranga - The roleWe want to ensure greater value for money for New Zealanders through better RBNZ procurement practice, contract and supplier management. Bring your curiosity, expertise, & influencing skills and partner with our internal customers to enable the right business outcomes for all. Our collaborative Procurement Team works together to support commercially astute procurement of a wide range of goods and services. The team is passionate about improving capability across RBNZ by providing advice and the 'know how' on processes that make it easy for our internal customers to undertake procurement. In this role you will:

- Support your RBNZ colleagues with their day to day procurement requirements including providing advice on procurement approaches and running RFx processes.
- Deliver procurement training in conjunction with the Director of Commercial Operations to ensure relevant staff are upskilled.
- Create reporting as required to support RFx processes and spend patterns.
- Pro-actively identify opportunities for quality outcomes that represent good public value.

Ō pūkenga - About youWe are looking for someone with the expertise and experience to uplift our procurement function, making it accessible and easy to understand to all of our internal customers. We are interested in people with:

- Knowledge of Government procurement practices (3+ years specialist experience)
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across a diverse group of internal and external contacts.
- Strong awareness and understanding of managing contract and supplier management issues to successful outcomes.
- Financial analysis skills with demonstrated ability to manipulate and interpret data.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills particularly with regard to RFx and supplier communication.
