**About The Company**:
Our client is a nationwide geotechnical site investigation company with a versatile range of rigs that are capable of a wide range of in situ testing and soil sampling. They work on a variety of projects from single house sites to major civil engineering projects throughout New Zealand, working with clients to understand their project requirements so that we can provide the best, most cost-effective site investigation solutions.

**About The Opportunity**:
This role is that of a field testing technician combined with a machine operator or driller role, using various rigs and performing technical soil tests and sampling (including CPT, DMT, downhole and crosshole seismic testing, shear vane and push sampling).

**Based in Auckland**, your job involves a combination of physical work and undertaking tests using electronic testing equipment, usually in an outdoor environment.

The work they do helps engineers design foundations for buildings and civil engineering projects.

You will **earn between $25 to $40 per hour**, based on your skills and experience.

**About You**:
Experience in CPT operation CPT rig is preferred, but not required as full training will be given.

Additionally, you will:

- enjoy working outside and be physically fit
- willing and able to work long hours, sometimes out of town
- be mechanically minded, have experience with basic electronics and operating computers
- a Full NZ Drivers Licence (preferably class 2 or 4)
- have an interest in geology or engineering
