**Assistant Accountant**

Ready for a new challenge? Our client is a leader in their field and is looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant or a Graduate who is looking to enhance and utilize their skillset. Based in Penrose, we are looking for someone who has strong experience/knowledge in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable Administration.

**About the role - Atu mo te mahi**
Reporting into the Company Accountant, this role is a mix of Accounts Payable/ Accounts Receivable and Administration This role will provide support across a variety of functions, and will require excellent relationship building skills, articulate communicator, high work ethic, attention to detail and an ability to work independently and show a high level of initiative is key in this role. Onsite training and support will be provided.

**Key tasks and accountabilities**:
**(including but not limited to)**
- Budget and Forecast preparation, including GST preparation
- Bank /Credit Card Reconciliations
- Prepare month/year end reconciliations file
- Preparing daily/monthly/yearly reports
- Assist in internal & external audit process
- Prepare month/year end reconciliations
- Follow up on overdue debtors
- Create contracts, new vendors & credit checks
- Create and raise purchase orders
- Liaising with local and global clients/stakeholders
- Support and promote Health and Safety policy and systems

**About you - Pehea koe**
- Proven experience in Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable/Assistant Accountant
- Strong understanding of accounting practices
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
- High attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Xero
- Ability to work independently and have strong initiative
- Ability to work in a fast-changing environment and co-operatively
- Excellent time management skills, with proven ability to set/handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Methodical and remains calm under pressure
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential (written & verbal)
- 1 - 3 years postgraduate with experience in some or all of the job requirements would be advantageous
