We are currently seeking to employ **a Distribution Line Mechanic - Glove & Barrier** to our **Distribution Central** team based in **Palmerston North**. In this role, you will provide a technical trade’s service to the company’s Distribution Network Lines.

- Conducting Hot Stick or Glove and Barrier work up to 66kV.
- Identifying electrical systems for work preparation.
- Climbing and working on electricity network structures.
- Using machinery and equipment in electricity networks.
- Assessing the condition of electricity supply lines.
- Developing construction and servicing plans for overhead lines.
- Joining overhead conductors in the network.
- Overhauling non-load bearing and load-bearing pole hardware up to 33kV.
- Installing and replacing pole structures and overhead conductors.
- Operating ground and structure-mounted electrical equipment up to 33kV.
- Removing overhead pole line installations up to 110kV.
- Rigging electrical network structures.
- Installing pad and structure-mounted electrical equipment.
- Installing and servicing street lighting.
- Installing and replacing aerial bundled conductors and hardware.
- Excavating and reinstating underground cable sites.
- Installing terminations and joints in power cables up to 1000 volts.
- Understanding and implementing the company health and safety policy and taking reasonable care of own health and safety and the health and safety of others.
- Complying and cooperating with any reasonable instruction, policy, statement or procedure by the company to allow it to comply with its duties and obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Omexom integrated management system.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Live Line training ECP46 certification.
- Trade qualification as a distribution line mechanic with at least 2 years of post-certification experience in general line work.
- Current competence in equivalent earthed line processes.
- Hands-on experience in distribution line work to industry standards.
- Thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements.
