We are a robotics company that designs and manufactures crawlspace inspections robots, pole cameras, drone parts, iOT solutions and various other custom solutions and devices for tactical police teams, bio security inspections, and under vehicle inspections. We specialize in making custom solutions as per requirements and export our products to various companies around the world. Niche company in Australia building inspection robots for both government departments and private companies around the world.
We have an exciting opportunity for a electronics/mechatronics/ mechanical engineer to work with our team on a 6-month project with the prospect to be full time after the completion of the project. The project is to work with bio security team New Zealand, New Zealand Police and Department of Corrections developing autonomous robots for their requirements.
This opportunity is for someone who has just finished their undergraduate degree s/Mechatronics/Mechanical Engineering to work on developing our robots further and research on better ways to design, build and assemble the robots. The student will work with some of the best engineers in the industry and will be gaining skills on various areas of the business such as product development, project management, hardware design and assembly, mechanical design using CAD and computer programming above what they have already learned in university.
**Job Details**
Reporting to the Project Manager - the duties will include:
planning and carrying out the design of new products, from concept through to prototyping, design verification, qualification testing, etc.
- Designing and building Custom robots to solve real world problems.
- Participating in the process of defining product and process development directions, based on understanding current and pending market needs and state-of-the-art technology.
- Design and build new products.
- Conduct R&D to improve our existing inspection robot.
- Research on Autonomous travel for the robot.
- Conduct PCB design and programming to meet the desired outcome of the robot.
- Assemble the robots, test, and make them ready for delivery to customers.
- Fault finding on the robots using various tools such as mustimeters, oscilloscopes, and desktop power supply.
We’re looking for a student will the following skills.
- Keen interest in robotics design and build, love for electronics and components, some programming skills will a willingness to learn and develop new skills to improve their career.
- Happy, cheerful, and honest to the job and the company.
- Willing to work as team.
- Good recordkeeping skills and documentations on our CRM software.
- Keen interest in iOT solutions that help solve problems.
- Strong skills in building porotypes, soldering wires and PLC programming preferred.
- Understanding the basics Mechanical engineering and 3D printing.
- Knowledge and use of Raspberry pi, Jetson Nano, Arduino will also be an advantage.
- Ability to think and analyze the issue.
