We are looking for an experienced Driller to join our team. The successful applicant will operate and maintain drilling rigs and related equipment to ensure safe and efficient drilling operations.
Type: Full-Time (minimum 30 hours per week)
Wage Range: $35-$40 per hour (depending on experience)
Location: Auckland
**Key Responsibilities**
- Operate drilling rigs to bore holes for foundations, piling, exploration, or sampling
- Set up and dismantle drilling equipment safely on site
- Select, install, and replace drill bits, rods, casings, and drilling fluids
- Monitor drilling operations, including depth, pressure, and material conditions
- Collect and prepare soil/rock/core samples as required
- Maintain and troubleshoot drilling equipment
- Lead, train, and supervise drilling assistants/offsiders
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations
**Skills & Experience**
- Proven experience as a Driller
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment
- Certificate in Drilling or equivalent qualifications preferred
- Full NZ driver’s licence
- Ability to read plans, drilling logs, and follow technical instructions
- Leadership skills and ability to manage a small crew
- Physically fit, reliable, and safety-focused
- Must pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test
