Preanalytical Services

Permanent, Full Time
80 hours per fortnight

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic person with an interest in science, an eye for detail, and a customer service orientation to work in the specimen collection and reception area of our laboratory.

The position will be based at the Central Hawke’s Bay Health Centre Laboratory

The role includes collecting specimens, preparing samples for testing, data entry, taking phone calls, and advising clinicians as appropriate.

Ideally you will be a Registered Laboratory Technician or Preanalytical Technician looking to work in a friendly, busy team. However you may be wanting to find a future career in the Laboratory. In this situation we offer training to the right person to gather skills and knowledge in the health sector and become a Registered Preanalytical Technician.

The person we are looking for will have excellent keyboard skills, a science background, be a quick learner, take pride in their work and have a common sense approach. With time there may be an opportunity to take on a leadership role.
