We - re looking for a casual Social Worker to join
our inter-disciplinary team to cover periods of time where our permanent staff
are on leave. Casual Social Work may be needed in any of the busy areas at
Burwood Hospital. This could be an excellent opportunity for a new graduate to
further develop their skills within a supportive and collaborative team

**The Role**:

This role provides Social Work Services to
designated areas of work within Older Persons Health and Rehabilitation
in-patient settings.

**In this role, you will be responsible for**:

- Working in accordance with Social work protocols developed for the

service in relation to inpatient assessment & rehabilitation, and
associated community areas of work;
- Social work bio/psych/social assessments, interventions, discharge
and rehabilitation planning in accordance with professional social work
standards and service requirements for cases referred;
- Respond to health and disability needs that impact on the wellbeing
of individuals and their family/whānau;
- Undertake a range of statutory functions and responsibilities

**relevant to legislative requirements, this may include**: child protection;
mental health services and vulnerable adults;
- Providing a consultation service to the service and community;
- Action social work interventions, requests for information, and
providing reports within adequate timeframes.
Your skills will

**include**:

- A

flexible and adaptable approach to your work;
- Good
interpersonal skills, with ability to form relationships with clients and
whānau under stress;
- Registration
under the Social Workers Registration Act 2003 with current APC;
- 1+
years experience within Physical and Mental HealthThere
may also be opportunties for working cross sector with MH and Christchruch
Campus if the need arises
