**Job Description**:
We are currently seeking a passionate Health and Safety Assistant to join our team based at our Horotiu site. As the Health and Safety Assistant your role is to work with all people on site to ensure everyone goes home safe every day. Each day, you will be required to record any accidents and near misses as well as voicing your opinion to help the site team review and improve the on-site safety protocols.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Assist the site leadership team to identify, eliminate and minimise risks
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, procedures and systems
- Document and manage incident and injury reporting and assist in investigations when required
- Communicate the importance of H&S to all people on site
- Prior experience working in a Health & Safety role preferably in the manufacturing sector.
- A formal qualification in occupational health and safety or related field, or on experience preferred.
- Enjoy building working relationships with various different people
- Good prioritisation and communication skills
- A supportive, well-established site leadership team
- The ability to make the role their own and autonomously manage a wide variety of day to day activities
