**The Role**

Our exceptional people see everything as an opportunity and are always striving to make more from milk. We have an exciting opportunity for a Regulatory Specialist to join our team on a permanent basis.

You will be the champion for regulatory requirements related to Synlait products with a focus on key changes in market access requirements to existing products, new product development and new process development. This is a key role where you will develop, build and maintain strong relationships with the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI), industry associations and overseas regulatory bodies.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Take the lead in understanding & ensuring compliance to both overseas & New Zealand regulatory requirements related to new product development.
- Manage the change required for existing Synlait products & processes related to significant New Zealand and overseas market regulation changes.
- Develop external relationships and networks to ensure Synlait is kept up to date in its knowledge and understanding of food standards, especially those relating to infant formula products.

**Qualification**
- Minimum of 3-7 years’ experience in a similar regulatory role within the food industry or government organisation

**Skills and Experience**
- Dairy (including infant formula) experience is preferred
- Strong foundation in international/export requirements, preferably for dairy and infant formula products
- Previous work experience in international markets would be an advantage especially the United States and South East Asia markets.
