An opportunity to work with New Zealand’s award-winning public media company. RNZ aims to strengthen Aotearoa and the Pacific through informative, challenging and entertaining content.

We’re looking for a talented journalist to join the RNZ Pacific team and focus on sharing content via multiple Digital channels including RNZ sites as well as social media.

RNZ is New Zealand’s only non-commercial public multimedia organisation and exists solely to serve the public interest by providing unique, impartial services and content to all New Zealanders.

Part of RNZ’s strategy involves continuing to expand our digital content and distribution to connect with a growing and increasingly diverse audience.
- In this role you will:_
- Initiate, write, edit, produce, and publish breaking news, news, features, analysis, background, and other context pieces, columns, and other digital content on RNZ Pacific website.
- Contribute ideas, insights, original material, context, and lateral thinking to help RNZ Pacific develop its distinctive quality.
- Make extensive and appropriate use of images, video, graphics, data, and audio in multimedia storytelling.
- Use social media to engage audiences, and distribute and promote our journalism.
- Use analytical tools to monitor audience engagement with RNZ Pacific stories

**Ōu Pūkenga - About You**
- We’re looking for somebody with:_
- A Tertiary journalism qualification or equivalent experience.
- Reporting and/or subbing experience for a news website or digital media organisation.
- Experience as a writer, combined with an excellent command of English and correct use of grammar and punctuation.
- Experience in still pictures, video and audio editing, development and use of graphics, and visualisation of data.
- Demonstrated experience in breaking news, live blogging, hour-by-hour story development, features, analysis and context pieces, and online content curation.
- Recognition of the value of cultural and community diversity.
