**About the role**

As an Urban Planner, you will assist in the delivery of projects relating to the growth of existing urban communities. This role also provides technical assistance across a range of complex and multidisciplinary projects relating to spatial planning, policy planning, local area planning, stakeholder / community engagement, whilst also providing input into the long-term plan process and other projects where there is overlap.

This is a permanent full-time role, working 40 hours per week between 6:00am and 6:00pm at 306 Cameron Road. You will work in the Bay of Plenty region only.

The minimum remuneration or this role is $98,882.00, and the maximum remuneration for this role is $133,782.00.

The role will contribute to the technical delivery of urban planning across a range of complex projects to better the community. You will: Research, understand, and integrate good practice in planning for urban growth, particularly related to integrated land use transport planning, community wellbeing, central government reforms and other local and central government priorities. You will provide urban planning advice and/or reports setting out available options and their risk, environmental, social, economic, cultural, strategic, and budgetary implications. Also Successfully deliver urban planning projects through all stages, from scoping through to delivery of final reporting, in a timely and professional manner in accordance with approved Project Plans and within approved project budgets.

You will also ensure that relationships are strengthened with our communities, Tangata Whenua, project partners and key stakeholders by achieving project outcomes together. You will cultivate relationships that are trusted, sustainable and effective with relevant teams across the organisation to facilitate collaboration on planning, policy and project development and implem facilitate meaningful engagement with the community, Tangata Whenua, project partners and key stak be involved in day-to-day interactions to assist in building strategic relationships across stakeholders, acknowledging a diverse range of interests. Collaborate with the Communications, Engagement, and other teams to achieve the above outcomes.

You will ensure that our customers receive accurate information and experience a high level of service. This means that you will provide professionally sound and technically

advice and service to customers and ensure that customer correspondence, enquiries and complaints are promptly processed and actioned.

**What youll need to succeed**

To succeed in this role, youll bring:

- A Qualification in Urban Planning and/or Urban Design, or another field directly relevant to the role AND
- A minimum of 2 years Proven experience in urban planning, local area planning, urban design and/or spatial planning roles
