**Control Systems Engineer - Paper Machines**:

**About the Role**:
As a member of the Paper Mill Team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining process control systems, PLC systems, data capture systems, and some aspects of management information systems. A key component of your role will be maintaining the QCS scanners and DCS systems with an uptime of over 99%. You will ensure the quality of all programming, server maintenance, scanner maintenance, and backups.

**What You Will Do**:
- Guarantee compliance with site, company, and statutory requirements.
- Improve equipment reliability, performance, and quality of output.
- Ensure accuracy and reliability of QCS scanners and data integrity of all software programs.
- Provide uptime of more than 99% for all DCS and QCS systems.
- Develop control improvement programs and implement loop tuning tools for process optimization.
- Support new projects, including equipment modifications and new equipment.
- Develop, design, and purchase equipment and services as required.
- Provide in-house programming skills to improve control logic.
- Maintain effective process reporting and support OPC server protocols.
- Maintain and update historians and ensure system functionality across required platforms.
**Who You Are**:
- Electrical Trade Certificate (NZQF Level 4) and Diploma of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (NZQF Level 6 or 7) or similar.
- Hands-on experience in control systems, PLC code writing, process engineering, computer hardware, and programming languages.
- Proficient in writing PLC code in an industrial environment across platforms such as Valmet or ABB DCS and QCS
- Self-starter, enthusiastic, and passionate about DCS and QCS.
- Strong process control and automation skills.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
**Nice to Have**:
- BSc in Computer Science or BEng in Control Systems (NZQF Level 7 or 8).
- Knowledge of NZ Safety Standards - guarding and electrical systems.
- Project control and organizational skills.
- Good knowledge of electrical wiring regulations.
- Paper making knowledge.
