Wellington City, New Zealand New Zealand Government Full time

Our work is secret, but the reason for our success isn't. It's our people.

And we're just like you. We're ordinary people. But together, we're doing extraordinary things to protect New Zealand and New Zealanders.

Bring your future focus, research and analysis skills to help lift New Zealand's protective security capability, including by ensuring our Protective Security Requirements (PSR) framework remains world class.

**About the role**:
Day-to-day you'll be responsible for interpreting key strategic trends and their implications for our customers and stakeholders, both government and non-government. Your research, analysis and critical thinking will bring together and distil information from a variety of sources, using the right data to produce meaningful insights that contribute to the evolution of the PSR policy and engagement programme. As a senior member of the team, there will be opportunities to further develop your mentoring and coaching skills, as well as provide intellectual leadership.

You will work as part of a collegiate and joined-up PSR Unit which communicates, coordinates and collaborates across our many functions (advisory, outreach, strategic analysis, research, policy and business coordination). Our aim is to work together seamlessly to deliver optimal outcomes for our customers and stakeholders.

**What you'll bring**:

- An ability to distil complex ideas and data in a way that others can understand and act on it
- A capacity to draw connections between emerging trends and risks, the New Zealand operating environment, and PSR policy and engagement gaps
- Assessment and advice that are well-grounded in data, evidence and research
- A strong customer service ethic and collaborative approach, with the ability to create and sustain collegial and effective working relationships.
- Confidence and ability to brief senior stakeholders and represent the PSR Unit and NZSIS publicly with a range of government and non-government stakeholders.
- A good business improvement mind, which looks for opportunity to improve how we work together to deliver for our customers.

This is a new role within a newly-formed team. We are looking for someone with the enthusiasm, skill and commitment to shape the role and chart a future course.

We offer our people comprehensive benefits, flexible working and great work-life balance. Join us and let us help you become Beyond Ordinary.
