Senior Grid Connection Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Grid Connections Engineer to help shape the success of our high performing and collaborative Power team in New Zealand. The primary focus of this role is to lead and develop a team of grid connection engineers under our Future Energy strategy to be based in Christchurch, although other Beca locations would be considered.

This opportunity will allow you to realise your own potential and achieve a step-change in your career. You will bring a mix of your technical expertise and design to deliver successful projects client outcomes and further build on our business. In this role you will:

- Lead and develop a team of engineers to undertake grid connection and system studies for behind the meter and/or front of meter renewable energy generation projects
- Foster the technical development of junior engineers
- Lead the development of our business through on-going engagement and liaising with our clients
- Draw upon your own technical expertise, and those of the broader team to deliver high-quality technical advice to our clients
- Drive delivery excellence across the Power and Energy Business

**Ko wai koe | About you**

Your technical skills are based on solid fundamentals and have been proven through the delivery of robust and innovative power engineering designs and advisory services. You will be an experienced problem-solving Electrical Engineer and be comfortable leading teams and mentoring junior engineers. You will also have business development skills which will allow you to contribute to the Future Energy business in a broader sense.

Preferably, you will possess consulting/business development experience and have proven capability across a range of the following areas:

- Stakeholder engagement, management, and networking
- Leading and developing a team of high performing individuals in line with our Future Energy strategy
- Working knowledge of DIgSILENT to provide direction/guidance to others in grid connection studies.PSS/E, PSCAD, PS Sincal and other software relevant to performing grid connection studies is a plus.
- Strong connections within the NZ transmission, distribution, and generation sectors.
- Ability to work with developers in concept and implementation phases of renewable energy generation projects.
- Intimate understanding of the New Zealand Grid Code.
- Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering
