**Description**:

- Laminex New Zealand forms part of the Building Products division of Fletcher Building Products Ltd, and we are a trusted business partner for decorative surfaces and panel products offering expert knowledge and exceptional value to our customers.While the current Taupo plant produces fine surface particle board, a new OSB plant is being built on the Taupo site. This modern plant will triple the production volumes and will offer interesting challenges and opportunities to the lab team going forward. Our Taupo site plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional products, and we are looking for a Part-Time Lab Technician to join our team, ideally 24 hours a week, Monday to Friday (hours flexible, but must be M-F). This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in lab testing, or quality assurance to contribute to our ongoing success. Key Responsibilities will include:
- Health & Safety: Prioritise and promote safety, report hazards, and follow safe work practices.
- Product Testing & Support: Conduct and analyse product performance tests, and ensure quality through QA sampling and process checks.
- Laboratory Processes: Maintain lab equipment, develop processes, analyse data, generate reports, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Sales Relationship: Provide quality advice, resolve product issues, and support testing for customer requirements.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulations, company policies, and maintain accreditation standards.

**WHAT YOU WILL NEED**:

- Previous laboratory experience, ideally in wood panel testing or a general manufacturing environment.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
- Strong numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and ability to adapt to change.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Ideally knowledge of engineering and technology with strong analytical skills for problem-solving and decision-making.
