We are seeking a hard-working and reliable Tiler's Assistant to join us in Northland Region. You should have a positive attitude and be willing to learn. You must be mature and responsible when it comes to dealing with tough situations. Although experience isn't essential, you will have to be physically fit and a fast learner. To be successful in this position, you will work well as part of a team and be able to perform strenuous physical tasks.

This is a Casual opportunity. Days Required: Monday to Sunday (flexible hours)

Your duties will include but not limited to:

- Assist in Loading or unloading, transporting tiles, materials, tools and equipment around the building sites.
- Assisting with mixing, pouring and spreading self-levelling screed, grout, sealant, inserting spaces
- Pre site cleaning to ensure work area is prepared and blemish free for tiling
- Prepare job site and prepare surface with the instruction of the Tiler
- Assisting on preparing wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout and adhesive, filling holes and cracks
- Assisting on spreading adhesive onto prepared surfaces and tiles, and setting tiles in position
- Ability to learn from the skilled Tilers and to take instruction;
- Clean job site once the work is done, clean tools, assist in polishing if needed, maintain work tools and machines daily after daily work is done.
- Prepare and care for the construction tools, equipment and machines.
- Erect and dismantle ladders, ensure safety in the job site as well as not damage the tiles.
- Assist Tilers whenever necessary in cutting and shaping tiles, removing old tiles, handling tiles to set in position, grout and adhesive.
- Following instructions from tilers and supervisors.
- Use equipment, machinery & tools in a responsible & safe manner.
- Follow health and safety procedure strictly.
- Removing debris, garbage, and dangerous materials from sites.
- Assembling and breaking down barricades, temporary structures, and scaffolding.
- Performing manual labour tasks
- Performs various physical duties as assigned.
- Excellent fitness and physical ability to carry out manual tasks
- Flexible Work Availability as there will be early morning start, late evening shifts and you may be required to work during weekends and public holidays (if and when required)
- Willingness to undertake training if necessary.
- Be mild-tempered and a team player.
- Be healthy, strong, and fit.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Ability to read safety warnings, and guidelines
- Attentive to detail and alert at all times to ensure safety
- Be honest and trustworthy
- Take pride in your work and go the extra mile to make sure the job is top notch
- Able to receive and follow instructions
- Enjoy coming to work and willing to be part of a team.
- No Criminal Record and able to clear the drug test
