Independent Trustee

A vacancy exists for an Independent Trustee on the Board of Hauora Matua ki Te Tai Aorere (Nelson Bays Primary Health). The Board is the governing body of Nelson Bays Primary Health (NBPH), guiding Pae Ora for the Nelson and Tasman vision of primary health care for the region.

Nelson Bays Primary Health is committed to its obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi. The Trustees are required to understand the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the objects of the Trust Deed.

**The skills that we are particularly interested in are**:

- Previous governance experience (essential)
- Relationships or connections with Tangata Whenua
- A sound knowledge of Pae Ora and the health reform agenda and aspirations for the community
- The ability to think critically and guide the organisation's strategic direction
- A proven track record of leadership
- Financial Acumen
- Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication skills to articulate ideas, actively listen, and engage in constructive discussion
- Understanding and ensuring appropriate risk management frameworks are in place
- Experience in strategic positioning of digital IT environments

Payment is made for monthly meetings and other meeting attendance as required.
