A key role with within the supply chain team, the Dispatcher schedules and plans freight allocations and dispatches the trucking fleet around the South Island. A high-volume role, you will be responsible for managing and recording the movement of high volumes of freight in the quickest most cost-effective way. You will build and maintain positive relationships with internal teams, and importantly with drivers, ensuring you effectively communicate their schedules and update them on any changes due to weather or other events.
To be successful in this role, you will have a background in either transport, logistics, planning or operations. A driver who has ambition to progress their career and can demonstrate the skills needed, will also be considered. The ability to form great relationships and build credibility with drivers and the across the business is critical, as is flexibility and the capability to work at pace. Experience with systems such as EROAD, iCOS or other relevant online freight and fleet management technologies is desirable but not essential.
