We are looking for an experienced **Solution Architecture Lead**, to join the Product Engineering team within Digital Services. With key accountability in providing effective strategy, and digital technology architecture leadership across the university. This is an opportunity to ensure optimal capability and performance delivery of all digital operations as well as being a key driving force behind our digital change programme and related initiatives to Te Rautaki Matihiko | The University of Auckland Digital Strategy.

Reporting to the Head of Product Engineering, this is a pivotal leadership role. You'll be expected to manage a team of five direct reports, providing technical leadership and people management in a collaborative and inclusive manner that ensures quality service delivery outcomes. You'll be expected to define, inspire and design innovative solutions that connect our digital capability with diverse stakeholder needs, specific to our organisation.

Be at the forefront of building a data culture, as you define the path of a complex data landscape with stakeholders across the institution, laying out data architectural patterns as we continue our journey towards a fully data-enabled organisation

**Key accountabilities include**:

- ** Product Engineering Delivery - **Identify and define required architecture patterns, guiderails & frameworks that are required for product engineering delivery/ operations
- ** Digital Solution Architecture Delivery - **Define the strategy and objectives for digital solution architecture
- ** Digital Solution Architecture Practice - **Ownership of Solution Architecture domains & Contribute to strategy and technology roadmap creation
- ** Leadership & Culture - **Manage the Digital Solution Architecture team providing mentoring & coaching
- ** Customer Service & Stakeholder Management - **Build and manage relationships, and facilitate feedback across multiple stakeholders ensuring the delivery of resilient products and solutions

Please note, this is a full-time (37.5hours/week), permanent position and sits in our Newmarket campus, where flexible working is widely utilised.

**He kōrero mōu | About you**

This role requires high-level expertise and solution and enterprise architecture background with broad operational and strategic exposure, within a large multi-faceted organisation.

Preference will be given to those who can demonstrate recent experience leading technology teams, ideally as key contributors to large-scale digital change or transformation initiatives.

You will be tertiary qualified in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar discipline.

In order to be successful in this role, you'll need:

- High-level communication ability - with verbal, written and interpersonal skills essential
- Proven relationship management skills with clear evidence of your ability to build and leverage successful business relationships
- Demonstrated ability to influence across organisations with a customer-focused approach
- To prioritise the development of your own skillset, as well as your teams’, ensuring you continue to reflect best practice
- Public Cloud Well Architected Framework experience and knowledge
- SAFe Agile experience and knowledge would be preferred, though not essential
- Demonstrated public cloud experience including Software as a Service, Integration as a Service, and Platform as a Service.
