**YOUR TASKS**
We are looking for an experienced Injection Moulding Technician/Diesetter to take responsibility for the Product change overs, Performance / Optimisation and maintenance of our Injection Moulders and tools. This is a shop floor based, hands on role that would suit someone who enjoys repairing and improving machines and equipment.
Working on the night shift, this position will be responsible for ensuring the efficient preparation and running of all moulding machines within HELLA New Zealand.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Management of the design department trial requests and successful completion of tooling trials.
- Ensure the correct tooling, material, machine setup, SPC data and related quality checks are actioned.
- Maintain visibility of virgin and regrind polymer stock to maintain virgin material stock levels and contribute to the most effective use of the regrind polymer.
- Minimise wastage and control product yields.
- Identify and proactively communicate quality issues
- Ensure quality samples and in process checks are completed
- Periodic SPC data verification and analysis to ensure product quality and optimization of the process.
- Ensure all related machinery and equipment required are set up and ready for the required product.
- Monitor and maintain quality standards at all times.
- Administration is completed as per required standards / procedures.
- Ensure that all quality requirements for product, processes, place and people are met with continuous improvement against known standards.
- Participate in offline improvement work and present proposals for plant improvement
- Improvements to the manufacturing process are identified to either increase throughput or decrease operating expense and inventory.
- Equipment is used effectively, and improvement initiatives are suggested and where possible implemented.
- Data analysis and trending
- Undertake special projects from time to time
- Provide support and advice to Moulding Team as required.
- Correct materials and quantities are dried in time and ready when required.
- Take ownership for the total care of moulding machines and associated equipment
- Ensure correct tooling preservation including the proper preparation and storage of tooling after usage.
- Perform tooling maintenance to ensure optimum tool performance.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance of all machinery. This includes tasks such as cleaning, lubrication and the identification of abnormal wear.
- Management of spare part stocks.
**YOUR QUALIFICATIONS**
- Must have minimum of Level 4 or appropriate industry experience with approximately 5-7 years' experience in die setting and running injection moulders
- Extensive experience (5 years +) working with PC, Nylon and PMMA
- National Certificate in Plastics Processing Technology (Injection Moulding) Level 4 or similar
- High standard of work coupled with passion and pride in doing a great job
- A strong engineering aptitude in die and machine fault finding maintenance
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Experience in moulding engineering materials, small tooling maintenance and maintaining moulding machines and relevant equipment
