64 - 80 hours per fortnight (0.8 - 1.0 FTE)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Health Care Associate to join the Medical Outpatients team in Villa 2 working alongside the Cardiology team as well as supporting with outpatient clinics.

This role is pivotal to the smooth running of the outpatient services as you will be responsible for preparation of clinics, contacting patients prior to appointment, administrative duties, data input, and minor procedures as directed by healthcare professionals.

**Responsibilities**:

- Administrative - preparing patient files, pre-admitting Cardiology outpatient procedures
- Preparing clinics by ensuring patients arrive at their appointment having undergone any required preparation, e.g. chest x-rays, blood tests, etc
- Creating a positive experience by welcoming and assisting clinic patients
- Supporting good communication between patients and healthcare providers
- Performing minor tasks as directed by healthcare professionals, e.g. ECG
- Promoting patient safety by maintaining a clean and hygienic environment
- Setting up and stocking examination and procedure rooms

**Role Requirements**:

- NZQA Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3) Health Assistance or equivalent
- Knowledge of healthcare practices and terminology
- Advanced record-keeping abilities and proficiency in related software, e.g. ECA.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to assist and reassure patients
- Ability to prioritise and perform multiple tasks as directed by healthcare professionals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
