**Structural and Innovation Designer**

Oji Fibre Solutions is one of New Zealand's leading manufacturers and suppliers of packaging solutions to a wide range of industries throughout the country. Our customers include blue chip manufacturers and marketers of packaging products to the food, primary produce, industrial and grocery sectors.

Based at our Corrugated Case business in Mangere Bridge, Auckland, we provide innovative and high-quality cardboard packaging to the dairy, horticulture, industrial and food sectors. We are on the lookout for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to join our team, who has 2+ years’ experience within a structural design related studio.

This role is a key part of our production process for our Corrugated business units within New Zealand. The role is varied and not about just sitting in front of the computer. You must be physically fit and capable of handling large sheets of board in the sample room and operating the sample table.

In this role you will:

- Liaise with clients & sales to establish packaging and design requirements with a focus on innovative and cost-competitive solutions.
- Generate die lines and image files.
- Sample making/scheduling the manufacture of accurate samples from the Zund machine.
- Maintaining a healthy and safe work environment.
- Focus on continuous improvement of work practices.

To be successful you will have the following attributes and skills:

- 2+ years’ experience in structural design within a packaging design studio or point of sale sector
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Detail and accuracy focused, a drive to do things the right way.
- Strong desire to provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Highly innovative and creative - pushing the design envelope and solving design dilemmas for our clients.
- Computer skills: CAD experience with Packaging Design Systems experience (i.e. Artios) and strong Microsoft programme skills.
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Packaging and Structural Design is advantageous.
