**The opportunity - Te tūranga**

As the Social Media Producer you will use social media to grow (and retain) the audience of 1News.co.nz. You will report to the Social Media Lead and work closely with other Social Media Producers. You'll also work daily with kaimahi on the Digital News Team, the Commissioning and Longform Editor, the Digital Video Content Producers team as well as journalists and editors across NCA.

This role will involve rostered work, which will include weekends.

Your key accountabilities will include growing (and retaining) the audience of 1News.co.nz by
- Driving audiences to 1News.co.nz by selecting suitable content and presenting it on social media in compelling ways
- Creating and publishing content for social media to grow the audience
- Engaging effectively and appropriately with audiences on social media platforms
- Monitoring and moderating comments in line with NCA strategy and brand
- Monitoring analytics tools to test strategy, assess audience behaviour and identify trends and opportunities

**What we're looking for - Tā mātou e kimi nei**

To be successful in this role, we are looking for the following
- A really good understanding of the types of stories that are ripe for a social media audience and how to sell them to audiences
- Know & understand different social media
- Be able to know your way around video and image editing software (such as Premiere Pro or similar, Photoshop etc)
- You will be a capable writer, able to turn around clean, compelling copy quickly
- Good understanding of media law and the importance of maintaining editorial standards
- You will have experience working with content creation and management systems (Creator Studio, YouTube Studio, Brightcove etc) or be up for learning them
