The Perinatal team are a dedicated, friendly Multidisciplinary Team, passionate about alleviating perinatal suffering. We're looking for a qualified health professional to join us; someone who's keen to make a difference. Whilst the field we work in is often perceived as being challenging, the peer support offered by our Team is unsurpassed.

The mental health and addictions service deliver a variety of services across the Waikato region. We are a service undertaking a huge programme of change to deliver better outcomes to tāngata whai ora and whānau in our region. Nga iwi Ngakaunui - people at the heart is demonstrated best in mental health and addictions, people really are at the heart of all that we do. We know how important strong relationships are; with people who access our services, with their whānau and with the communities we serve.
The triage team plays a vital role in community mental health and addictions service, receiving all referrals into the service and ensuring they are either referred on to an appropriate community service or are brought into the appropriate team. Creating strong working relationships across the sector at primary, secondary and tertiary levels, alongside a collaborative MDT approach to assessment are key components of this role.

Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:

A current annual practicing certificate enabling working in the mental health sector
*
Experience within the mental health field
*
Ability to confidently assess, formulate presentation and risk and report this to MDT in a clear and concise manner
*
Interpersonal skills, therapeutic engagement, critical thinking and communication skills
*
The ability to be service user/tangata whaiora focussed, innovative and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team as well as autonomously
*
A good understanding of the community and services available
*
Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
*
A current full driver's license
