Checkout Supervisor

**About the Role;**

You’ll be hands-on, leading a large team in one of the busiest areas of the store — the checkouts Your mission? To deliver smooth, efficient operations and outstanding customer service that keeps people coming back.

As a Checkout Floor Supervisor, you'll be the right hand to the Checkout 2IC's, helping to keep things running like clockwork in the afternoons and evenings. You'll be on the floor, in the action — supporting the team, solving problems, and ensuring every customer leaves with a smile.

**Role 1 - 32 hours per week**
Wednesday 9am - 5:30pm
Thursday 9:30am - 6pm
Friday 8:30am - 5pm
Saturday 10am - 6:30pm

**Role 2 - 40 hours per week**
Monday 11:30am - 8pmTuesday 11am - 7:30pmWednesday11:30am - 8pm
Thursday 11:30am - 8pm
Sunday 11:30am - 8pm

**Key responsibilities include;**
- Supervising the checkout crew and keeping operations smooth
- Keeping customer queues under control — no one likes waiting
- Making sure all age-restricted sales follow the rules
- Assisting with lotto sales and monitoring the self-checkout area
- Jumping in on a checkout when needed (you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty)
- Solving price enquiries and customer queries quickly and positively
- Maintaining tidy checkout lanes and fully stocked impulse zones
- Keeping bags, stationery, and other essentials well supplied

**About You;**

We’re after someone who’s reliable, energetic, and thrives in a team setting. You've got a genuine passion for customer service and know how to bring the best out of those around you.

Here’s what will help you shine:

- Previous experience as a supervisor or team leader in retail
- Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
- Calm under pressure — you stay cool when it gets busy
- Physically fit and ready for action (this is a hands-on role)
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test
- Eligible to work in NZ
- Ability to obtain a liquor license (if you don’t already have one)
- A positive attitude and team-first mindset
