**About the Role**

Here at Christchurch Hospital we are looking for an Advanced Professional Physiotherapist registered as a Hand Therapist, with knowledge and experience in Hand Therapy, to join us in the Hand Therapy Service as part of our Physiotherapy Womens, Hand Therapy and Musculoskeletal Outpatients cluster.

In this role you will provide safe and clinically effective patient assessment and intervention with demonstration of advanced knowledge and skills to support the hand therapy management of patients. You will be helping to develop the Hand Therapy Service, whilst working alongside interdisciplinary staff and students. As part of our Womens, Hand Therapy and Musculoskeletal Outpatients cluster, you will also work with patients across a range of clinical specialities to support our inpatient services/colleagues as required. This role will assist in developing the clinical capability of others and will provide clinical and/or professional supervision to staff and students.

You will be involved in quality improvement activities and creating and/or actively implementing evidence based practice.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Undertaking advanced professional assessments, completing appropriate interventions and providing advice or referring to other services
- Training, supervising and mentoring interdisciplinary staff and students
- Facilitating and leading service improvements

**About You**

We are seeking an Advanced Practitioner to join the team in this designated Hand Therapist position, your skills will include:

- A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience working in hand therapy
- Registered Hand Therapist with Hand Therapy New Zealand
- Demonstrated leadership skills and contribution to interdisciplinary service development
- Experience in teaching/supervising, training and development of staff with an understanding of adult education principles
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Knowledge of quality improvement principles and processes, with a growth mindset
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
