Speech Language Therapist, Porirua

Mahinawa is a school for students aged 5-21 years with intellectual, physical, emotional, mental health and behavioural disabilities. All students have ORS funding in place.
We are searching for an experienced Speech Language therapist (you must be eligible for NZSTA) with a positive attitude and passion for special education.
You will be joining a supportive multidisciplinary team committed to working collaboratively to empower students to be the best they can be. You are looking for a position in a modern spacious work environment with a varied caseload, where you can build close relationships with students and families to achieve their goals.
You have proven skills in implementing augmentative & alternative communication systems for a diverse range of students, ideally with completed CAT1 training. Knowledge and skill with sensory oral feeding challenges and dysphagia would also be an advantage. You will need to meet the Specialist Service Standards, support teachers to implement our adapted curriculum, work to fulfil IEP aspirations and provide training to staff and families from time to time.
Our school is on 9 sites, one new base school and eight satellite classes in the Porirua and Kapiti region. Travel between the satellites is required so you will have a clean driver's license and a vehicle.
While this position is full time, we can accommodate job share of 0.6 FTE for the right applicant.
