Within the Information Protection team, we identify and investigate data loss incidents by monitoring, investigating, mitigating, preventing, and containing them to reduce impact to BNZ information and systems. We also maintain key data loss systems and are a part of projects to help uplift our security posture.

**Mō te Tūranga | About the Role**

We sat down with our Manager - Information Protection (who you'd report to), and they let us know the following about the role.

**What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?**
- Looking after key data loss infrastructure to make sure it is running smoothly with security at the fore, including regular patching of infrastructure, upgrades as required, troubleshooting problems (speaking with vendors/NAB) with the tools as needed.
- Optimisation of tool capability such as automation to improve data loss capability for BNZ
- Maintaining key relationships within BNZ such as Database, Networking, Engineering, Risk and Workplace teams
- Complete documentation (SOPs) as needed including Bank processes such as Change requests.
- Driving forward your individual roadmap for run, change and uplift of the tools and working with the Manager and team in developing and delivering the Information Protection strategy and road map.

You will be the Senior Technical Lead for data loss tool Symantec for BNZ and look at developing information protection solutions for BNZ by utilising your expertise across our data loss tools. Part of the role will be working on key projects such as rolling out Exact Data Matching. You will also be mentoring Information Protection staff and assisting in uplifting team capability as necessary.

***What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?**

You'll have excellent relationship management and communication skills, with experience in Systems and Security. This will be linked with:

- Strong technical understanding of Microsoft systems (on premises & cloud) i.e. 0365 Security & Compliance, DLP
- Ability to offer advice / guidance in an environment of rapid change. You'll be passionate and able to pick things up quickly.
- Ability to document effectively
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical language to non-technical audiences
- An understanding of IT security concepts
- Ability to step into Leadership role if required

**What specific tech skills are required to be successful?**
- Experience of data loss tools such as Symantec, ZScaler, Splunk, JIRA, MCAS, and M365 platform experience across Exchange Online, SharePoint(OneDrive) and cloud security groups (M365/Azure AD) an advantage.
- Experience of Regex and ability to write/tweak data loss rules an advantage.
- Database/networking experience
- Siem integration experience an advantage
- Understanding of Cyber Security and Risk an advantage.
