Experienced Painter

Todd Mudie Group is seeking an experienced painter for full-time, permanent work in South Canterbury. Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, paying $30-$35/hour depending on experience. **The Role**
We are looking for a skilled **Tradesman Painter** with **at least 2 years of professional experience** to join our growing team. This is a **full-time permanent position**, working across residential renovations, new builds, and commercial projects. We currently have one position availbale.

You’ll be part of a reliable and passionate team delivering high-quality painting services from preparation through to finishing. The role may require travel within the South Canterbury region (e.g. Timaru, Waimate, Twizel, Oamaru), and reliable transport is essential.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Surface preparation (patching, sanding, cleaning)
- Application of primers, undercoats, and topcoats using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
- Working with a variety of coatings and finishes on different surfaces
- Ensuring a clean, tidy, and safe work environment
- Working independently and within a team on both interior and exterior jobs
- Meeting project deadlines and maintaining a high standard of workmanship
- Communicating with site supervisors and clients as needed

**Minimum Requirements**:

- At least **3 years of proven painting experience** in the trade (residential and/or commercial)
- Able to interpret job specs and follow plans/instructions
- Physically fit and capable of manual work in various environments
- Must have a **valid driver’s licence** and access to reliable transport
- Must be able to work full time, Monday to Friday (occasional weekend work may be required)
- Excellent attention to detail, work ethic, and time management skills
- Must be currently living in New Zealand or willing and able to relocate to the South Canterbury area

**Nice to Have**:

- Site Safe or other relevant trade certifications
- Experience with spray-painting systems
- Previous experience working in teams on large-scale construction sites
