A rewarding fixed-term opportunity has opened for a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to take a role in shaping the care and wellbeing of women, babies, and whānau across our vibrant Hutt Valley community.
- What You - ll Do:_
- Provide high-quality care across acute and non-acute obstetric and gynaecological services
- Work as a Generalist Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
- Although not mandatory, qualification or experience in leading antenatal service provision, including diabetes in pregnancy is desirable
- Guide junior medical staff and foster a culture of learning and excellence in the wider multi disciplinary team
- Take part in clinical governance and Birth Suite leadership initiatives

We're seeking someone with a special interest in advanced antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care. Completion of a RANZCOG Advanced Training Module or equivalent international qualification is highly desirable.

We support over 1,800 births each year and provide strong regional services in Plastics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Rheumatology. Our dedicated team includes 10 Specialist Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, working collaboratively in a supportive and dynamic setting. As an accredited RANZCOG ITP training site and a teaching hospital for University of Otago, Wellington medical students and Trainee Interns, we are committed to education, continuous improvement, and providing high-quality, safe care.

Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley district is located centrally in Wellington and has over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making us one of the major employers in the Wellington region. We operate three hospitals - Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown, Hutt Valley Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua - as well as the Kāpiti Health Centre at Paraparaumu.

**About you**
- Vocationally registered in Obstetric & Gynaecology with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
- FRANZCOG or equivalent to be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ
- Hold RANZCOG Fellowship with Advanced Training Modules (ATM) or equivalent international qualifications in areas such as antenatal care, Intrapartum care or gynaecology modules, that enhance our current team
- Must participate on the oncall roster
- Work in collaboration with multidisciplinary team
- Able to provide consistently high standards of medical care
- Relevant experience and training
