Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The Head of Sustainability leads on our strategy and approach to sustainability, and coordinates contributions from different parts of the organisation. Our aim is to integrate sustainability principles and practices across Te Whatu Ora, with the team monitoring and reporting on the organisation's overall sustainability performance.
The role leads a high-performing team, and collaborates extensively with a wide range of internal experts and teams. Strong external alliances, both public service and more broadly, are also essential to our success ahead.
Action in response to climate change, including emissions reporting, is central to the teams work, while ensuring a broad outlook on sustainability in all its form. This includes supporting New Zealand's contribution to the UN Sustainability Development Goals.
Mōu | About you
You are collaborative, passionate about sustainability in all its forms and well-connected with stakeholders across the public service and externally. A strong background in all things sustainability alongside your ability to influence across all levels of the organisation will be key to success. You will need to be able to build and maintain great relationships and effectively engage others to help make change. You can readily demonstrate your extensive experience in change leadership, influencing and obtaining results within complex organisations and in challenging circumstances.
