**Job Description**:
**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

A unique opportunity has arisen to appoint an experienced **Data Services Client Manager** to act as a conduit between the data teams and the researchers who work within world-class Clinical Research services for the University of Auckland, hosted by the Liggins Institute. The Data Services Client Manager is the primary point of contact for the data services arm for the Human Health Research Services Platform research services platform.

**This is a fulltime, Permanent position**.

Reporting to the Clinical Research Services Manager, this role is key to ensuring the data platform remains a high-quality service for the researchers and clients, meeting their needs and specifications. You will also lead a team of 3-4 autonomous, technical individuals having oversight of their portfolio of projects and the strategic growth of the data services division of the platform.

Some key expected deliveries in the role include:

- ** Data Services Client Management** through working with users to understand project aims and design and translate this into deliverables for the data services team

- High-level** Administrative **tasks such as leading the implementation of strategies and operations plans for data services at the Liggins Institute
- ** Staff Leadership** including management of data monitor, statistician, and health economist roles, and oversight of the database development team and encourage behaviours aligned to the development and maintenance of a culture that is inclusive, flexible and collaborative.
- ** Communication** which is clear and confident across both written and verbal forms.

For more detailed information, please refer to the Position Description.

**He kōrero mōu | About you**

Key to your success in this role is your personable and solutions-based approach, as you communicate clearly and confidently with university clients and technical teams. Your understanding and exposure to both the clinical research and data systems will enable this.

You will be comfortable and experienced in managing people, giving them space to thrive in their individual capacities.

Experience operating in an Academic institution would be ideal, particularly in human health research or cancer trials. Though it would be of benefit to also have Project Management experience, your ability to manage expectations on deliverables is what is essential for performing in the position.
