- **We are looking for a curriculum specialist in Science and/or Technology**:

- **2 Fixed term, full-time positions available**:

- **12-month fixed term (or 31st July 2026, whichever comes sooner)**

The Curriculum Designer role sits in the Curriculum and Assessment Change Programme which is a key unit within Te Poutahu Curriculum Centre. The Programme works in partnership with other Te Poutahu business units to enable the materials and outcomes delivered from these projects to move into the business for ongoing delivery, maintenance, and support.

Curriculum Designers play a crucial role in ensuring that all requirements and Quality Criteria have been built so there is nothing left to chance in the design of materials for the learning area.

They provide quality assurance testing of the developed materials to ensure they meet the quality standards required. The Curriculum Designer works closely with the workstreams within the programme to ensure alignment across the Programme.

**About you | Mohou ake**:
To be successful in this role you will bring the following:

- Ability to build relationships and partnerships to achieve shared outcomes in a complex organisation.
- Demonstrated experience working in programme/project environments.
- Understanding of The New Zealand Curriculum.
- Knowledge of the NCEA Review of Achievement Standards
- Ability to write clearly for a variety of audiences and communicate complex information simply.
- Facilitation experience in person and online
- Understanding of educational change and implementation practices that will support teachers and students to understand and use the materials.
- Cultural knowledge and competency to build relationships and operate in te ao Maori and Maori communities where needed.

You will also offer:

- Curriculum specialism in the Science and / or Technology Learning Area.
- Knowledge and experience of curriculum design
- A qualification in Education specialising in the primary and/or secondary sector.
- The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

**About our group and team | Matau ropu ake**:
The Curriculum Designer team works collaboratively with other kaimahi and is responsible for assisting in the design and building of the requirements for New Zealand Curriculum. This will be used as the base to develop all Curriculum products required within the Programme.

The Curriculum Designer team is made up of highly experienced education professionals with a range of specialisms. The working environment is hybrid with the opportunity to work from home twice a week.
