As a key member of the NZ Warehouse & Distribution leadership team, this role is responsible for providing operational leadership to achieve best-inclass performance in all aspects of warehousing.

As the operational and safety lead for the site, the position is accountable to ensure a safe efficient warehouse that delivers cost competitive and cost-efficient supply chain to the company's best practice and quality control guidelines, in line with business and customer expectation.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Workplace health & Safety** - Instil a positive safety culture through committed and visible leadership, creating a workforce which engages with safe practice, safe systems and safe behaviours. Partner with the WHS Co-coordinator to ensure the Safety Management System is implemented and audited for compliance and safety efforts and programs around Risk Management are enhanced and supported. Ensure investigations are undertaken for any accident or incident that causes lost time or medical treatment to establish root cause and to identify corrective actions to implement. Site liaison for Building Management Company and Building compliance as per Warehouse Site Safety plan, ensure site repairs and maintenance are addressed.
- **Talent Management & Leadership** - Build a high performing team with a safety first, continuous improvement focus. Coach, mentor and develop talent by providing tools and techniques that improve their effectiveness. Coach and develop team to become consistent practitioners of the ITW Toolbox.
- **Strategically Position Business to Win** - Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice warehousing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance. Identify business improvement opportunities within the organisation identify non-value adding activity and ways to eliminate or automate with the intent to simplify, reduce cost and improve quality.
- **Warehousing** - Develops and delivers on the business warehousing plan to continuously improve performance. Ensures best practice warehouse processes across all New Zealand, including managing adherence to manning and labour schedules and minimising any variances. Has total responsibility for warehouse stock accuracy, stock return processes and inventory control across NZ.
- **Continuous Improvement** - Drive a continuous improvement cultural within the team, through active leadership encourage and lead the continuous improvement and process improvement efforts across all operations to address safety, quality, and efficiency. Doing so by rigorous and methodical use of the ITW Toolbox.
- **Performance & Culture** - Champion ITW culture & values and drive alignment, lead and coach.

**To be successful in this position you will have**:

- Tertiary qualification or equivalent depth of experience in warehousing management and/or supply chain preferable;
- Strong commitment to building Safety and high-performance culture;
- Exhibits and model ITW's Leadership Expectations: “strategically positions business to win in markets”, deliver results”, develops manages talent”, and leads “effectively”;
- Working knowledge of WH&S and is personally committed to a positive safety culture;
- Knows how to build & leverage influential relationships across functions/business to deliver results;
- Effective communication & leadership skills with demonstrated experience in performance management; and
- Depth of understanding of financial drivers and levers within a warehousing environment and can balance delivering operationally and strategically.
