Diversional Therapist

Northbridge Lifecare Trust is a warm and friendly Village/rest home and hospital where our aim is to provide excellence in aged care. We are looking for a Diversional Therapist to help care for our residents as you would care for your own beloved family.

**ABOUT US**
We are a not-for-profit retirement village based in Northcote. We provide accommodation security for the elderly, with great apartments, wonderful facilities, gardens and a modern hospital and rest home facility. We care for each other whether we are trustees, employees or residents living here. That’s unique, and it makes us unique, it’s who we are.

**THE ROLE**
As someone who has a strong passion for helping & caring for people. You will be:

- Plan and develop group recreational events/activities that encourage participation e.g. music, debates on news and current affairs, physical activity, visiting artists, and activities suitable for those with sensory loss and short-term memory loss.
- Work closely with and support colleagues to promote the residents' happiness, well-being & quality of life.

**ABOUT YOU**
The successful applicant will ideally have the following:

- Certificate in Diversional Therapy or currently training in this field
- Strong computer skills mandatory
- Experience in providing mobility activities for the elderly
- A great sense of humour, patience and resilience
- A genuine interest in quality care of the elderly
- Reliable, friendly and professional manner
- Availability to work the weekend
