We are an independent New Zealand mobile towers and passive infrastructure business recently spun out of Spark New Zealand. We operate a nationwide portfolio of over 1,250 mobile sites and are responsible for building and densifying our network of mobile towers across New Zealand to enable 5G and future mobile technology rollouts. Our principal customers are Spark New Zealand and other wireless network operators (like Vodafone and 2degrees) who install active radio equipment on our towers. Working across New Zealand with a range of stakeholders, landlords and communities, we enable our customers to provide coverage and services to their end users to help unlock New Zealand’s digital potential.

Connexa is owned by Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board (OTPP) as a majority shareholder (70%) and Spark New Zealand Limited retains a 30% interest.

Connexa has an ambitious forward build programme and this is an exciting opportunity to bring your structural and civil engineering skills to the table to play a part in the design of new passive mobile towers and infrastructure and the performance improvement of existing assets.

As a Structural/Civil Engineer you’ll be working with and coordinating Deployment Engineers, Project Managers and Acquisition Managers from within the business and with design teams of external service companies to prepare and document structural designs for engineering projects as well as oversee upgrades and new site build work.

**Requirements**:
You will have:
Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent (CPEng benchmarks an advantage)

Experience in Structural/Civil engineering related disciplines from concept to post-construction stages

Telecommunications or adjacent Infrastructure sector experience preferable

Experience with NZ design codes

Ability to develop and review engineering designs, drawings and specifications

Comfortable with foundation designs - varying from normal concrete foundations to pile foundations and/or good understanding of geotechnical inputs

Comfortable with calculation, analysis, and modelling programmes as required for structural design

Comfortable with Civil 3D / 12d / HEC / Microstran, Space Gass or equivalent tools
